Water Management

Water Management is one of the key factors of Hydrotherapy.

The Hydrojet Pool, Water Treadmill and the Spa are all treated using small amounts of the chemical Chlorine. Chlorine has been used in Canine pools for many years with NO adverse reactions and is extremely important in preventing the spread of bacteria and cross infection of diseases.

The water is tested and recorded at least three times per day to ensure the chemicals are kept at their optimum levels, using a Digital Photometer for the most accurate results, as pictured above.

Chlorine levels are kept between 0.5 - 2ppm

pH levels are kept between 7.4 - 7.6 to mimic the normal pH found in the dogs mucous membranes.

Keeping the water adequately adjusted with the correct levels of chemical is also key to keeping the equipment clean and the water nice and clear.

All the equipment is fitted with sand filters and pumps to remove traces of grit, dirt and hair, and manual cleaning procedures are applied after every session.
