Showering and drying

We have a shower area where we will wash your dog before and after their therapy session.

Showering your dog before the session ensures that any dirt, mud or dust is not entering the pool, and helps to keep the water as clean as possible. Showering your dog before treatment also acclimatises the body to the water. Your dog will also be bathed after the session to ensure the removal of all traces of chlorine.

Drying your dog before they leave the centre is very important. Joints will become stiff and achey if a dog is left to wander around with a damp coat. The quickest most effective way for us to do this is with a hair blaster. It works by blowing the water out of your dogs coat and gets rid of the excess wetness in a matter of minutes.

We also have a Drying Cabinet that the dogs can go and have a snooze in whilst drying off completely. Accompanied by the blaster or towels, this works really well in getting a nice dry coat and keeping the dogs warm and relaxed.

Towel drying is also an option for those that dislike the noise of the hair blaster or dislike the cabinet ! Towels will be provided.

If your dog has a special or medicated shampoo that you would like us to use, then please bring it with you to the sessions.
