'Paddy' - Labrador cross Greyhound - Aged 14.5yrs

Reason for Hydrotherapy - Arthritis & hind limb weakness

Paddy was diagnosed with arthritis in his lower spine which affected the nerves in back legs. His condition was deteriorating despite the usual veterinary medications and physiotherapy.

Swimming was the latest addition to his treatment since May 2008, and it has helped to significantly improve his muscle tone, stamina and general mobility. It has certainly made a difference to the strength in his back legs.

Although not a lover of water and nervous about what was happening and what was expected of him, the calm atmosphere and understanding of both Sarah and Gemma boosted his confidence and he now thoroughly enjoys his trips to hydrotherapy. He definitely enjoys the fuss and attention they both give him.

'Troy' - Shih tzu - Aged 1yr

Reason for Hydrotherapy - Post Spinal Surgery

Many thanks to both Zoe and Gemma for their kindness and care, and above all their patience.

 My dog, Troy, underwent spinal surgery last November, following an accident where one of the discs in his back became dislocated, paralysis followed in his lower back and hind legs. Hydrotherapy has restored movement to the affected area and the muscles in his hind legs are becoming much stronger, so much so, that now he is able to stand and manages to take several steps at a time.
 
Both swimming in the pool and going onto the water treadmill have helped Troy to achieve a greater degree of mobility. I am confident that Troy will be
walking again in the near future.

 

His sessions are made enjoyable by the girls, whom he adores, and responds well to.
